This website has been a blast, but it's time to set Izanamikun aside in favor of other endeavors. A new goal has emerged: to advocate the good things of the world, and make the internet a bit brighter. At the end of the day, I believe doing so has a better chance for my own personal happiness- and maybe it'll make a difference for others as well.
Izanamikun videos will still be available, but don't hold you breath on new ones coming out anytime soon. If I do pick this side-project up again, it'll be awhile to say the least. In the meantime, maybe you'll drift on over to the new channel:
A terminal crowdfunding story come true, Rilia's history adds to the diversity of Fenfin- along with some tragic permadeath events. Follow the journey of last week's videos below, or check out the videos page for series-specific options!

The last two videos of April are now out, and a new playlist (May 2020) has begun! Based on how things went the last month, it seems a better idea to post videos and links after they've been released, rather than before.
Remember to subscribe to my channel to get the goods as soon as possible!

So far, each video published on Izanamikun has been announced on three different platforms- Facebook, Patreon, and this blog. Unfortunately, due to YouTube's search algorithms and lack of collaboration with scheduling private videos, I have decided to change from daily to weekly- and instead of embedding videos, the post will have a link to the current playlist. Further details, should you be interested, are explained below.
If you want daily announcements despite these changes, please subscribe to my channel- as YouTube will automatically post each new video to your feed when it is published. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and hope to continue bringing quality content for the foreseeable future!
YouTube's search algorithm relies heavily on the "views" stat. This much is well- known. What I didn't realize when I began this channel, is that stat is set after the first 48 hours. Any additional views after that are, I assume, lost to the interwebs. YouTube wants to bring relevant, quality results to the viewer, so in a way this makes a lot of sense. However, for certain types of scheduling, this can be problematic.
There are 3 states a video can be in once uploaded: Private, Unlisted, and Public. If a video is uploaded in the Private state, the "views" counter stays at zero. However, in either Unlisted or Public, the 48 hours counts automatically. This is a problem because an Unlisted video isn't appearing in searches at all, relying solely on views via links.
Previously, I had been scheduling my videos sometimes several days in advance with the intention of creating a second series (Minecraft, which is still in development). To schedule posts on Facebook, Patreon and the blog, videos had to be either Unlisted or Public- otherwise the post would be wonky (or in the case with Patreon, simply not post at all). There's a technical way to explain it all, but rest assured there's no easy way to schedule a post in advance for a Private video- even if it's scheduled to go public before the post does. For some reason, it just doesn't work.
I'll admit I'm not the most tech-savvy, so it's possible there's a workaround I am oblivious to. However, it's not an easy Google-search away, because I've researched this enough to know a lot of others have struggled with this issue as well. If I find a better solution, there is likely to be a new update- but for now, Playlists seem to be the best compromise.
Let me know in the comments what you think and any suggestions you want me to look into! Thanks for your understanding, and I'll see you guys in the next video!
A garden of thought, for the entertainment of others.
It's all about the story.
